Complete Rangers injury report, including the duration of Ridvan, Matondo, and Danilo’s absence

The manager of Rangers, Philippe Clement, promised to break the curse of injuries that has plagued Ibrox over the past few seasons. Over the past 36 months, the Ibrox team has suffered from a terrible run of injuries, which has severely hindered their efforts to hold onto their dominance of the Scottish Premiership.

The previous season, only eight out of thirty players met Philippe Clement’s 90% availability target, exposing the club’s serious problems. Not everything has been attributed to misfortune either. The Rangers medical staff has left Philippe Clement incensed, and he has decided to start over this summer using a new strategy. Is it effective, though? Regularly injured players like Ryan Jack and Kemar Roofe have left the team, although a few walking wounded still play for the team.

Here is the current injury report at Ibrox, with three prominent players at the top of the list.

Yilmaz Ridvan

Turkish international Ridvan Yilmaz tops the list, the 23-year-old’s two-and-a-bit years in Glasgow defined by recurring injury issues.

Every time Yilmaz has begun to get a run in the Rangers first-team, he’s been almost immediately pegged back.

The same thing happened this season when Yilmaz picked up a seemingly innocuous injury after taking a shot in the Champions League QR3 defeat to Dynamo Kyiv in Glasgow (13/08/24).

Going down clutching his thigh, Clement said on the 16th of August that Yilmaz was looking at four to six weeks on the sidelines.

That means he’s due back anytime between the 13th and 27th of September.

Given the left-back missed this weekend’s 1-0 win over Dundee United, it looks like Ridvan is looking at the back end of that prognosis.
