Newcastle United goalkeeper Martin Dubravka may depart the club this summer as Nick Pope is expected to return from injury.

Dubravka has been a regular starter for Newcastle during Pope’s five-month absence due to a dislocated shoulder. However, the 35-year-old, who has just one year remaining on his contract, is considering leaving in search of consistent first-team opportunities.

According to iNews, clubs from the Saudi Pro League have shown interest in the Slovakian goalkeeper, prompting Newcastle to contemplate selling him. Dubravka has made 159 appearances for the club since his loan move from Sparta Prague was made permanent for £4 million in 2018.

Newcastle’s goalkeeping situation is currently uncertain, especially with Loris Karius set to depart when his contract expires in June. However, the club has activated a one-year extension option in the contract of their fourth-choice goalkeeper, Mark Gillespie.

Gillespie, aged 32, is expected to serve as Newcastle’s third-choice goalkeeper next season, while the club evaluates potential replacements for Dubravka and Karius.

Newcastle has been scouting Valencia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili, and there have been links to Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsdale, who previously worked with Eddie Howe at AFC Bournemouth.
