While the Miami Dolphins and New York Jets haven’t previously been associated with potential trades for San Francisco 49ers standout Deebo Samuel, a prominent NFL insider surprisingly suggests that both teams should be considered as viable contenders for acquiring the talented wide receiver.

Currently, one of the most talked-about topics in the NFL revolves around the possibility of the 49ers trading either Deebo Samuel or Brandon Aiyuk ahead of the 2024 training camp. These two players serve as the team’s top receiving options, but Samuel secured a significant contract extension last year, while Aiyuk is seeking a substantial raise as he enters the final year of his rookie deal.

Facing the reality of being unable to retain both players, the 49ers have been linked to trade discussions involving the New England Patriots, Buffalo Bills, and Washington Commanders. However, Sports Illustrated NFL insider Albert Breer surprisingly introduced the Dolphins and Jets into the conversation regarding a potential trade for Deebo Samuel.

Breer remarked, “As for potential fits for Samuel, I believe you’d consider teams connected to the coaching tree. San Francisco likely won’t entertain offers from the Los Angeles Rams, and it’s improbable they’d trade him to the Green Bay Packers. The Atlanta Falcons, with offensive coordinator Zac Robinson, could be a reasonable option. Similarly, the New York Jets could be a contender, adding depth to their receiving corps and offering support behind Breece Hall at running back. Furthermore, a reunion with Mike McDaniel and the Miami Dolphins could present an intriguing opportunity.”
