The New York Jets have been in discussions with their homegrown superstars, cornerback Sauce Gardner
and wide receiver Garrett Wilson, about potential contract extensions all offseason long. Both Wilson and Gardner are entering the fourth and final seasons
of their original rookie deal. The Jets have exercised the fifth-year option on both players, no-brainer decisions, keeping them under contract through 2026.

ESPN recently released an article outlining one final move every team should make this offseason. For most teams, this is a veteran signing or trade. For the Jets, ESPN focused on completing extensions with Wilson and Gardner.
“The problem with having both the 2022 Offensive and Defensive Rookie of the Year on your team is that you have to extend both guys a couple of seasons
later,” Aaron Schatz wrote. “Thanks to the fifth-year option, the Jets know they have both Gardner and Wilson through 2026. But let’s be honest, they want to have them both a lot longer than that.
