Man Utd predicted lineup vs Man City – Premier League

Manchester United go across town to rivals Manchester City on Sunday afternoon to continue Ruben Amorim’s transformation.

In their past two games, the Red Devils lost to Nottingham Forest and overcame Viktoria Plzen in Europe, but they know rivals Manchester City are in trouble.

United may win their first league match at City since 2021, but which players would Amorim pick for an exciting match?

Man Utd vs. City probable lineup (3-4-2-1)

GK: Andre Onana Onana, a bright spot in a pedestrian start to the season, has had two disappointing performances ahead of United’s always-challenging road day. The 28-year-old allowed three goals in this match last season.

CB: Leny Yoro As he adjusts at United, the young Frenchman may endure some tough times. While Yoro’s defensive partners need time to improve, his natural skills are obvious.

CB: Matthijs de Ligt—Another star who has struggled this month. The Dutchman may lead United’s defense, but he has to be more active.

Lisandro Martinez, CB Martinez looked powerless as Chris Wood’s header floated past him in the final Premier League gameweek. Has had some bad Etihad experiences and should be keen to avoid another on Sunday.

RWB: Amad Diallo – Josko Gvardiol has been exposed on City’s left side this season, therefore United should give Amad as many chances to attack him.

Since joining in the summer, Manuel Ugarte has averaged 2.5 successful tackles in Premier League matches as a ball-winner. The only United player with a higher 2.7 is Casemiro.

Kobbie Mainoo, United’s bucket-hat-wearing adolescent, immortalized himself by scoring the winner versus City in last season’s FA Cup final. After 11 matches this term, he hasn’t scored.

Luke Shaw will return to the starting XI when he’s fit, although Diogo Dalot may slot in on the left. At wing-back, the Portugal international can show off his attacking skills.

Bruno Fernandes—RF Fernandes has played in a deeper midfield role, but his final-third talent will be crucial if United are to win Sunday. He’s scored three times versus City in 13 matches.

Marcus Rashford—LF The England international has had many spectacular moments versus City, but his future is uncertain. He should be reminded of his talent and class.

ST: Rasmus Hojlund—The Dane scored twice in 30 minutes in the Europa League after scoring against Forest. He is crucial ahead of Joshua Zirkzee up front due to his speed and pressuring.
