Partick Thistle will be without the services of Logan Chalmers for tonight’s finale to the regular William Hill Championship season.

As is so often the case in Scotland’s second tier, the table remains finely poised going into the final round of fixtures. Falkirk host Hamilton – whose

15-point deduction was upheld yesterday afternoon, confirming Accies’ relegation to League1 – knowing a win would seal the title, while Livingston go into the match with title aspirations of their own.

 

The Lions need to better Falkirk’s result to win the league, but they face stiff opposition in the form of the Jags in West Lothian this evening. The fourth-placed side are two points clear of Raith Rovers in fifth, who face Queen’s Park this evening.

 

A victory for Thistle would confirm their participation in the promotion play-offs; lose, and they will be relying on a favour from the Spiders to ensure they stay ahead of Raith.

 

Everything is to play for, and it is in Thistle’s hands, but they will be taking to the pitch at Almondvale without two of their most important players: Stuart Bannigan, who received his marching orders half an hour into last Friday’s 2-1 win over Falkirk, and Chalmers, who Graham revealed played through the pain barrier and then some last week
