In the aftermath of the horrific car crash that claimed the life of the 44-year-old mother of five, fans left floral tributes and signed cards for the grieving family. Players from both the Thunder and the New Orleans Pelicans were visibly emotional, deeply affected by the tragedy.

Monty Williams had previously served as the head coach of the New Orleans Pelicans for five years before transitioning to his role with the Thunder. Consequently, players from both teams in Thursday’s game felt a personal connection to Williams and his family. Prior to the game, several Pelicans players visited Williams at his home, including Ryan Anderson, who had been mentored by Williams during his time in Louisiana.
