NFL World Reacts To Insane Kansas City/ Chiefs Quarterback Trade Rumors

With the Kansas City Chiefs preparing to play in the Super Bowl for the fourth time in five years, it seems evident that quarterback Patrick Mahomes will be the starter for the rest of his career. However, while Mahomes’ job is secure, there has been little discussion about fixing the backup quarterback position, which may be critical if the star quarterback sustains a long-term injury. According to a trade proposal, here’s who may be Mahomes’ backup as early as next season.

Kansas City Chiefs

According to former Miami Dolphins, New Orleans Saints, and Seattle Seahawks general manager Randy Mueller, signing New York Jets quarterback Zach Wilson could be a sensible decision for the Chiefs. This is what Mueller said in the exclusive interview:

I believe that if [Wilson] could go somewhere with a veteran, established player and sit and learn–and it’s a legitimate offense that he can learn, as well as a legitimate offensive coach and scheme–there will be a few landing sites.

There are enough seasoned quarterbacks in backup situations who are uncertain about their futures that [Wilson] may make sense to replace. I believe the Chiefs may make some sense.

While there have been no signs of the Jets moving on from Wilson, there have been several rumors that the quarterback could be on the move this offseason, since veteran Aaron Rodgers will take back the starting quarterback responsibilities in New York. While Wilson may not have what it takes to be a solid starter in the NFL at this moment in time, putting him behind a guy like Mahomes could take Wilson’s career to the next level in the future.

Wilson is still only 24 years old, which means he still has a lot of years in him to develop and become one of the better quarterbacks in the league. The current backup in Kansas City is 34-year-old Blaine Gabbert, who will likely be calling it a career soon, especially if the Chiefs win the Super Bowl this season. Do you think Wilson will go to the Chiefs in 2024, or will he remain the backup to Rodgers in New York?
