Molson Canada Alleges Former Sales Director Embezzled $9.1 Million; NHL Prospect’s Father Accused

Molson Coors, the parent company of Molson Canada, has accused former sales director Frank Ivankovic of orchestrating a “complex scheme” to defraud the company of nearly $9.1 million.

Ivankovic is the father of Nashville Predators draft pick Jack Ivankovic, the 18-year-old goaltender who was selected 58th overall in the 2025 NHL Entry Draft and is currently in his freshman season at the University of Michigan, recording 13 wins in 16 starts.

Court documents filed Wednesday in Ontario Superior Court allege that Ivankovic exploited his authority at Molson to approve fraudulent invoices from shell companies, Letz Go and 466 Ontario, which funneled payments into accounts he shared with his wife, Kelly O’Brien-Ivankovic.

The company claims Ivankovic personally received more than $4.27 million from these transactions since 2021.

Molson Coors says it first became suspicious in late 2024 when it received a bank inquiry about deposits exceeding $276,000 from the shell companies. According to the filings, on Dec. 28, Ivankovic texted his accountant for help drafting a response.

The accountant reportedly advised him to “tell the bank to f— off.” Investigators also discovered an Excel spreadsheet on Ivankovic’s email account that allegedly tracked the fraudulent transactions.

The lawsuit includes allegations of fraud, conspiracy, breach of fiduciary duty, and unjust enrichment, with Molson Canada seeking millions in damages. Ivankovic resigned last month amid the internal investigation.
