Former Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau has been enjoying life after politics, including publicly displaying his support for the Montreal Alouettes in high-profile settings.

The 54-year-old was spotted on Saturday night at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Indio, California, alongside his partner, pop star Katy Perry. The pair attended the event to watch Canadian superstar Justin Bieber perform, with Perry sharing photos and videos of the outing on Instagram.

In the images, Trudeau can be seen wearing a backwards Montreal Alouettes cap, paired with a white T-shirt and jeans. His public support for the CFL team is well known, despite his father, former prime minister Pierre Elliott Trudeau, not being a football fan. Trudeau previously described himself as a “fanboy” after meeting the team in 2021 and later contributed his voice to a promotional video ahead of the 2025 Grey Cup.

Trudeau served as Canada’s prime minister for a decade before stepping down in March 2025, with Mark Carneysucceeding him as Liberal leader and the country’s 24th prime minister.

rumors bout his relationship with Perry emerged later that year before they went public in December.

While a celebrity wearing team merchandise is not unusual, the moment provided notable visibility for the Alouettes, especially given Perry’s massive global profile.

The singer is one of the world’s best-selling artists, with multiple Diamond-certified hits, and has one of the most followed accounts on Instagram.
