New York Islanders captain Anders Lee responds after Frank Seravalli publishes inaccurate report about the team
Following the recent coaching shake-up at the New York Islanders, attention has quickly shifted to new head coach Peter DeBoer as the team battles to stay in the playoff race.
The Islanders are currently three points outside a Wild Card spot in the Eastern Conference and are struggling for form, having lost four consecutive games.
Despite Patrick Roy’s dismissal, players have largely spoken positively about their former coach. However, NHL insider Frank Seravalli sparked controversy by claiming that some players had grown frustrated with Roy frequently referencing his own playing career and Stanley Cup success.
That claim was quickly shut down by team captain Anders Lee, who strongly denied any such sentiment within the dressing room. Lee explained that when Roy spoke about his experiences, it was always relevant and intended to help the team, adding that no players shared the frustration suggested in the report.

The response effectively dismissed the speculation, raising fresh questions about the accuracy of the original claims.
