Reason explained Why offensive line coach Luc Brodeur-Jourdain is stepping down from his role with the Montreal Alouettes
Montreal Alouettes offensive line coach Luc Brodeur-Jourdain has officially decided to step away from his position.
The longtime Alouettes figure, now 42, transitioned into coaching immediately after retiring midway through the 2019 season, first taking on the role of assistant offensive line coach. By the next year, he had been elevated to offensive line coach, a position he held for five seasons.

General manager Danny Maciocia paid tribute to Brodeur-Jourdain’s impact both on and off the field.
“On behalf of the Montreal Alouettes, I want to thank Luc for everything he has contributed to this organization and our community,” Maciocia said in a statement. “His warmth, leadership, spirit, and passion for the game will be deeply missed.”
A native of Saint-Hyacinthe, Que., Brodeur-Jourdain enjoyed an outstanding 11-year CFL career with Montreal, appearing in 168 regular-season games and capturing two Grey Cups as a player. He earned two All-East selections and one All-CFL nod, later adding a third Grey Cup ring as part of the coaching staff in 2023.
Drafted in the sixth round of the 2008 CFL Draft out of Université Laval — where he helped the Rouge et Or win three Vanier Cups — Brodeur-Jourdain became one of the franchise’s most respected homegrown figures.
The Alouettes are coming off a strong 2025 campaign, finishing second in the East Division at 10-8.
They defeated the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in the East Final before falling to the Saskatchewan Roughriders in the 112th Grey Cup. Quarterback Davis Alexander posted a perfect 7-0 record as a starter despite missing significant time due to a hamstring injury.
Montreal’s defence led the league in net defence, while the offence ranked eighth overall.
Stevie Scott III topped the team in rushing with 418 yards, Tyler Snead surpassed the 1,100-yard mark as the leading receiver, and linebacker Darnell Sankey recorded 103 tackles. Average home attendance was 21,132 — sixth in the CFL and marginally down from the previous season.
