Shawn Burke explains how the Ottawa Redblacks managed to secure the signing of Andy Isabella
Shawn Burke revealed that the Ottawa Redblacks had been monitoring Andy Isabella for quite some time before finally securing his signing.
Burke explained that Isabella frequently moved on and off negotiation lists, but remained a player the club admired due to his suitability for the CFL style of play. The 29-year-old receiver, a former second-round NFL Draft pick, brings experience from stints with the Arizona Cardinals, Baltimore Ravens, Buffalo Bills, and Pittsburgh Steelers.

Burke credited Jovan Santos-Knox for helping initiate contact, noting the linebacker’s prior connection with Isabella played a role in gauging his interest in moving north.
Despite his NFL pedigree, Burke emphasized that Isabella will need to earn his place like everyone else. However, his elite speed—highlighted by a 4.31-second 40-yard dash—makes him an exciting addition who could stretch the field in Ryan Dinwiddie’s offence.
