Hamilton Tiger-Cats Introduce Expanded Fan Zone at Tim Hortons Field

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats are set to revamp the north end of Tim Hortons Field with a significant expansion of their in-stadium fan zone.

Formerly known as the North End Patio, the area will be rebranded as The Porter Hangar. This two-level space is designed to foster a vibrant, intimate atmosphere while offering weather-protected reserved seating and a dedicated entrance. “At Hamilton Sports Group, we’re always enhancing the live experience for our fans and partners—from stadium flow to how people gather and enjoy the game,” said HSG president and CEO Matt Afinec.

He added, “The Porter Hangar represents a bold next step in that ongoing mission. Porter has been an exceptional partner, and together we’re creating a space that elevates the fan experience while preserving what makes Hamilton Stadium a premier venue for live sports.”

The team describes The Porter Hangar as an “elevated economy environment combining comfort, convenience, access, and social interaction in a weather-protected end-zone setting.” The new fan zone is expected to open for the Tiger-Cats’ first preseason game on May 23, 2026.

Looking ahead, Hamilton plans to expand The Porter Hangar in 2027 to include a members-only field-level viewing area, potentially enabled by the CFL’s field-shortening adjustments set for after the 2027 season.

On the field, Hamilton posted a strong 2025 season, finishing first in the East Division with an 11-7 record before losing to the Montreal Alouettes in the East Final. Quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell led the league with 5,296 passing yards, 36 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions over 18 regular-season games, earning the East Division nomination for Most Outstanding Player.

The Tiger-Cats ranked third in net offence, eighth in net defence, and led the CFL with a +10 turnover differential. Running back Greg Bell recorded 1,038 rushing yards, while receiver Kenny Lawler contributed 1,443 receiving yards. Linebacker Stavros Katsantonis led the team in tackles with 69.

Off the field, Hamilton continued growing its fanbase, ranking fourth in CFL attendance with an average of 22,858 fans per game, a 3.9% increase from the previous season.
