Winnipeg Jets trade veteran Tanner Pearson to Buffalo Sabres

The Winnipeg Jets have moved another experienced player off their roster, trading veteran winger Tanner Pearson to the Buffalo Sabres in exchange for a seventh-round draft pick.

Pearson joined Winnipeg during the offseason after signing a one-year contract worth $1 million, providing depth and experience to the team’s forward group.

Solid depth contribution in Winnipeg

During the current season, the winger appeared in 52 games, scoring eight goals and adding 10 assists for a total of 18 points. Pearson mainly filled a bottom-six role, contributing with his experience and work rate rather than headline numbers.

Veteran with a long NHL journey

Pearson has built a lengthy career across the National Hockey League, playing for several teams since breaking into the league. Over the years, he has suited up for the Los Angeles Kings, Pittsburgh Penguins, Vancouver Canucks, Montreal Canadiens, and most recently the Jets.

Across his NHL career so far, Pearson has recorded 157 goals and 168 assists, totaling 325 points.

Fresh opportunity in Buffalo

The move now gives the Sabres an experienced forward who can add depth and leadership to their lineup as the season progresses. Meanwhile, the Jets gain a draft pick while continuing to reshape their roster.

For Pearson, the trade represents another chapter in a well-travelled NHL career as he looks to make an impact in Buffalo.
