Ottawa Senators Forward Brady Tkachuk responds to podcast controversy, but fuels more debate
Tkachuk addresses podcast controversy—but adds fuel to the fire
Ottawa Senators are building momentum in the playoff race—but off-ice drama is threatening to steal the spotlight.
The controversy began on the “Wingmen” podcast, hosted by Brady Tkachuk and Matthew Tkachuk, where their father Keith Tkachuk made comments praising goalies from his era for playing nearly every game.

The timing raised eyebrows, coming just days after Senators goalie Linus Ullmark faced criticism for missing a crucial game during a tight playoff push. Fans quickly connected the dots, questioning whether the remarks were a subtle dig.
When asked about the situation, Brady Tkachuk defended his father rather than distancing himself:
“I completely respect my dad. He’s going to be a Hall of Famer… he says what he thinks, and it comes from a good place.”
Instead of calming the situation, his response only intensified speculation.
On the ice, however, Ullmark delivered the perfect reply—leading Ottawa to an impressive 4-1 win over the Buffalo Sabres. The result pulls the Senators into a three-way tie for the final wild card spot alongside the Detroit Red Wings and Columbus Blue Jackets.
As the playoff race heats up, so does the pressure—and Ottawa will need to stay focused if they want to turn momentum into a postseason place.
