Head coach of Toronto Maple Leafs Craig Berube reveals trio ruled out for the season
The Toronto Maple Leafs confirmed on Saturday that three key players will miss the remainder of the regular season ahead of their clash with the Florida Panthers.
Head coach Craig Berube revealed that Anthony Stolarz, Brandon Carlo, and Dakota Joshua have all been shut down for the rest of the 2025–26 NHL campaign.

The decision comes at a curious time, with growing discussion around Toronto’s 2026 first-round pick, which could go to the Boston Bruins unless the Leafs finish low enough in the standings. Currently sitting just outside the bottom tier, a defeat could push them closer to retaining that pick.
While the trio are genuinely dealing with injuries, the timing of the move may ultimately work in the club’s favour in terms of draft positioning.
