Senators Lock In Shane Pinto with Four-Year Contract Extension
Ottawa Senators general manager and president of hockey operations Steve Staios announced today that the club has signed forward Shane Pinto to a four-year contract extension. The deal carries an average annual value (AAV) of $7.5 million through the 2029–30 NHL season.

Pinto, who celebrated his 25th birthday on Tuesday, has been off to a strong start in the 2025–26 campaign, registering 8 goals and 14 points in 17 games. Since making his NHL debut on April 17, 2021, the Franklin Square, New Yorknative has amassed 121 points in 227 regular-season appearances with Ottawa.
“Shane is an important part of our core, and we’re thrilled to have him remain with us long term,” said Staios. “This extension represents another step in allowing this group to grow together.”
Originally selected by Ottawa in the second round of the 2019 NHL Entry Draft, Pinto has also represented Team USAin each of the past two IIHF World Championships. He was instrumental in the Americans’ gold medal victory last spring, tallying 10 points in eight games. His standout performance earned him an invitation to USA Hockey’s summer orientation camp ahead of the 2026 Olympic Games.
