Hamilton Tiger-Cats sign veteran receivers Kurleigh Gittens Jr. and Shemar Bridges

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats have strengthened their receiving corps by signing veteran pass-catchers Kurleigh Gittens Jr.and Shemar Bridges on Thursday.

Both players became CFL free agents earlier in the week. Gittens Jr. spent the last two seasons with the Edmonton Elks, while Bridges returns to Hamilton for a third campaign. Last season, Gittens Jr. recorded 62 catches for 777 yards and four touchdowns. The Ottawa native enters his seventh CFL season after beginning his career with the Toronto Argonauts (2019, 2021–23).

Over 88 career regular-season games, Gittens Jr. has amassed 314 receptions for 3,756 yards and 19 touchdowns, including a Grey Cup win with Toronto in 2022.

Bridges, a 6-foot-4, 208-pound American, has appeared in 33 regular-season games for the Tiger-Cats over the past two years, catching 117 passes for 1,294 yards and six touchdowns. He also earned East Division Top Rookie honors in 2024.
