Alabama is expected to sign another top talent as their crazy run continues.

It would be too simple to say that Alabama and Kalen DeBoer are on fire when it comes to recruiting. This really is something different.

If you thought the summer recruiting run for last season was impressive, wait until you see what DeBoer and GM Courtney Morgan are putting together for the 2026 class.

Alabama already has eight pledges from June alone. That number will go up to 10 if 5-star LB Xavier Griffin and 3-star WR Owen Cabell live up to their expectations. They will make their announcements on Sunday and Monday, respectively.

Along with 3-star WR Brian Williams, 5-star WR Cederian Morgan, and 5-star S Jireh Edwards, things aren’t expected to slow down in July either. You can now add one more top-level talent to that list.

Andrew Bone, an Alabama recruiting expert, and Steve Wiltfong, a national recruiting insider for On3, both said on Saturday that they thought the Crimson Tide would get 4-star defensive end Nolan Wilson, who is set to make his decision on July 4th:

The tweet came from Recruits Bama on June 28, 2025.
Wilson went on official trips to Auburn, Ole Miss, and Miami (FL) this summer, in addition to Alabama. Many people thought this would be less interesting than it is now, but Freddie Roach’s early friendship with Wilson seems to be helping the Crimson Tide win.

Wilson hasn’t forgotten that Alabama was the first FBS school to offer him in October of last year. The number of people interested in him has grown since then, but an early look by the Crimson Tide seems to have made all the difference.

Nolan Wilson is the most important recruit Alabama still has available. Football is still won at the line of scrimmage, even with the most innovative and crazy offensive ideas from the best and brightest offensive teachers. If you get your behind whipped first, none of that plan will work.

Alabama’s defensive line hasn’t been as good as it used to be in recent years. That might be different in 2025, when the very skilled LT Overton, James Smith, and the dependable senior Tim Keenan join the team. More young talent needs to be brought into the room, though, for the future.

Alabama recently missed out on Titan Davis because he decided to play for Michigan instead of Alabama. It would be terrible for them to miss out on Wilson as well.

Three-star defensive end JJ Finch was just added to Alabama’s class. This is a guy whose offer list is much longer than his recruiting ranking. Also, they have committed players who can play a lot of different spots, like Kamhariyan Johnson and Jamarion Matthews.

The Tide could also sign 5-star Anthony “Tank” Jones. Jones will likely start out as a Wolf LB in Kane Wommack’s system but could eventually become a Bandit.

It would be a huge win for DeBoer if Jones and Wilson joined Alabama’s already strong defensive line. It would also help the team’s future.
