Brady Tkachuk lashes out amid wild speculation over Ottawa Senators

The Ottawa Senators have been under intense scrutiny recently, as speculation surrounding Linus Ullmark’s personal leave — now nearing two weeks — reached a fever pitch on Thursday.

GM Steve Staios quickly addressed the rumors, dismissing them as “completely false and fabricated.” But attention has since shifted to the players, with captain Brady Tkachuk speaking out about the situation for the first time.

Tkachuk, understandably frustrated by the swirling speculation, made his feelings clear during his media availability ahead of Saturday’s game against the Florida Panthers.

The 26-year-old, in the fifth season of his seven-year, $57.6 million extension, has recorded 21 points (eight goals, 13 assists) in 23 games this season.

Tkachuk Shows Support for Ullmark

While Ullmark remains on personal leave, Tkachuk stressed that both he and the team continue to back the star goaltender.

“It’s been a tough time for Linus, and the speculation online doesn’t make it any easier,” Tkachuk said. “We’re doing our best to support him and stay focused on the ice.”

The Senators’ struggles have been evident, including Thursday night’s 8-2 defeat in Colorado, but if Ottawa hopes to remain in the playoff hunt — currently six points out of the final wild-card spot — Tkachuk and the team will need to block out the distractions and keep their focus on the games ahead.
