Hamilton Tiger-Cats maps out the 2026 rosters! Player targeted listed
Less than a week removed from the excitement of the Grey Cup, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats have already shifted their attention toward shaping their roster for the 2026 CFL season. This stage of the off-season is typically when CFL teams begin evaluating free agents who finished the 2025 campaign without a team. Because these players come with minimal financial risk but carry the possibility of becoming meaningful contributors, they offer teams like Hamilton valuable opportunities as they prepare for next year’s training camp.
According to the CFL’s official transactions list, the Tiger-Cats moved quickly during the opening days of the off-season, securing the signatures of five players they intend to further assess. The new additions include National defensive back Jake Nitychoruk, American wide receiver Moochie Dixon, American linebacker Ryan Meed, National defensive lineman Kail Dava, and American defensive back Cameron Bergeron.
Jake Nitychoruk, a seventh-round pick by Hamilton in the 2025 CFL Draft, returns to the organization after previously developing in U Sports with the University of Manitoba from 2021 to 2024. As a National player, he holds extra strategic importance because his presence helps the Tiger-Cats manage the league’s Canadian ratio requirements while providing roster flexibility.
Wide receiver Moochie Dixon arrives after spending part of the 2025 NFL season with the New Orleans Saints. Before turning pro, Dixon enjoyed a productive college career at SMU from 2022 to 2024. During his time with the Mustangs, he appeared in 40 games, hauling in 74 passes for 1,205 yards and eight touchdowns. His blend of experience and athletic upside makes him an intriguing option for Hamilton’s offensive plans.
Linebacker Ryan Meed is another familiar face making his return to the Tiger-Cats. He saw limited action with Hamilton this past season, appearing in one game before being released. Meed had a lengthy college career at the University of Illinois between 2019 and 2024, where he suited up in 50 contests and totaled 34 solo tackles along with 31 assisted tackles. Hamilton will now get a second look at him to determine whether he can grow into a larger role.

National defensive lineman Kail Dava joins Hamilton after a brief stint with the Calgary Stampeders during the 2024 season. He appeared in eight games for Calgary, recording three solo tackles. Dava previously played at Tennessee Tech from 2019 to 2023, appearing in 48 games while producing 41 solo tackles, 46 assisted tackles, and eight sacks. His experience and national designation give Hamilton another depth option along the defensive front.
Finally, American defensive back Cameron Bergeron signs with Hamilton following a steady four-year run at Duke University. Between 2021 and 2024, Bergeron played in 46 games for the Blue Devils, registering 55 solo tackles, 42 assisted tackles, and one interception. The Tiger-Cats see potential for Bergeron to eventually carve out a spot in their defensive secondary. At the very least, his skill set could translate into immediate value on special teams, a key pathway for many CFL newcomers.
With these early signings, Hamilton has begun laying the groundwork for a competitive 2026 roster, taking advantage of the low-risk window of off-season scouting and evaluation.
