Injury worries mount for Boston Bruins as McAvoy confirms fresh problem
The season may already be over for the Boston Bruins, but it has ended with yet another injury setback for star defenseman Charlie McAvoy.
McAvoy revealed on Sunday that he suffered a broken hand during the Bruins’ opening-round playoff series against the Buffalo Sabres, meaning he played through multiple games while dealing with a significant injury. He believes the issue occurred during Game 2, forcing him to compete through pain for the remainder of the series

The 28-year-old blueliner has endured a difficult campaign, appearing in just 69 games overall due to a series of setbacks. After the disappointment of another injury-hit season, McAvoy admitted he is ready to put the year behind him.
Earlier in the season, he also suffered a frightening facial injury after blocking a shot, adding to what has been a physically punishing year.
Overall, it has been a frustrating and injury-filled campaign for McAvoy, who once again finishes the season battling serious fitness concerns.
