Alabama and Kalen DeBoer have been putting together a great class of 2026 recruits. Steve Wiltfong of On3 thinks that Alabama will add another star in Cederian Morgan.

Alabama has kept recruiting like Alabama even without Nick Saban. The Crimson Tide got off to a slow start in recruiting for 2026, but this month they added 10 commitments and moved up from outside the top 50 in the country to No. 9 with 15 commits and two five-star prospects. A fourth one might be coming on Wednesday.

Blue chip wide receiver Cederian Morgan is set to make his decision public on Wednesday. The five-star wide receiver is still deciding between Alabama, Auburn, Colorado, Florida, and Georgia. Steve Wiltfong, vice president of On3/Rivals and a national recruiting expert, thought that the Crimson Tide would win the battle for the best player in Alabama.

A recruiting expert thinks that Cederian Morgan will choose Alabama on Wednesday.
Kalen DeBoer and Courtney Morgan, the general manager, added three-star wide receiver Owen Cabell on Monday night before Morgan’s promise, but that shouldn’t change his mind. The Tide look like they will be able to add three wide receivers. On Tuesday, three-star Brian Williams could also agree to join the team.

There were doubts about DeBoer and his staff’s ability to bring top-level talent to Tuscaloosa after Saban left, but Alabama’s recent recruiting surge has put those doubts to rest. Morgan’s pledge would be the cherry on top, though. The 247Sports Composite Rankings put him at No. 12 overall in the country and No. 2 among wide receivers, behind Tristen Keys, who chose to go to LSU. However, he is likely to visit Alabama during the season.

The Tide are currently tied with Ohio State, Oregon, and Texas for the top spot in the national rankings with two five-star recruits in the 2026 class. If Morgan’s pledge goes through, it would keep them close to the top of the rankings.

In the last few days, the race to the top has become even more important as the Georgia Bulldogs have moved up to second place with a 26-player class and seven pledges in the last week. Georgia only has one five-star prospect in the 2026 class so far, and that is quarterback Jared Curtis. Pairing him with Morgan could be terrible for the rest of the SEC for years to come. Alabama will instead try to get Morgan to work with five-star quarterback Keelon Russell in 2025. Russell could start to play full-time in Tuscaloosa as early as next season.
