Latest Boston Bruins buzz: Jeremy Swayman, Jake DeBrusk and swirling trade talk

There has been plenty of news involving both current and former members of the Boston Bruins in recent days.

After Joonas Korpisalo recorded the Bruins’ first shutout of the 2025–26 season in a 1–0 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins on Sunday, pressure shifted to Jeremy Swayman to respond.

The starting netminder did just that two nights later, stopping all 24 shots he faced in a 3–0 victory over the Detroit Red Wings at TD Garden on Tuesday.

Boston received goals from Pavel Zacha, Fraser Minten and Mark Kastelic, while Swayman was quick to praise both his teammate and the group in front of him.

“Korpi got it done last game — he’s just the best,” Swayman said. “We got the monkey off our back, and I’ve got to keep up with him. That competitiveness is awesome, but shutouts don’t happen without the guys in front of us. Huge credit to them.”

With the Seattle Kraken visiting Boston on Thursday for the second meeting between the teams in nine days, it remains unclear who will get the start in goal.

The Bruins have won six of their last seven games and will be seeking revenge after a 7–4 loss in Seattle earlier this month.
