Over the past month, Kalen DeBoer and the Alabama coaching staff have dominated the recruiting process, securing a dozen fresh 2026 commits, including some of the top players in the country.

The Crimson Tide does not seem to be slowing down anytime soon, despite the fact that the summer has already been remarkable in and of itself. Anthony “Tank” Jones, a 5-star edge rusher from Mobile, Alabama, formally announced last week that Texas A&M, Alabama, and Oregon would be his final schools.

According to 247Sports’ composite ranking, the 6-foot-3, 240-pound defender is the No. 2 player in the state and the third-ranked player at his position in the country.

Over the course of June, he paid formal visits to each of his three finalists. On June 20, he stopped in Tuscaloosa with a number of current Crimson Tide pledges, including Mack Sutter and Ezavier Crowell.
Jones is a versatile edge defender who can pursue the quarterback and stop the run. It is difficult for offensive linemen to get his hands on him because of his strong hands and aggressiveness at the point of attack.

The Mobile native may be considered a Bandit prospect by the Crimson Tide due to his already 240-pound physique prior to the start of his senior season, even if he now plays more like a Wolf under Kane Wommack’s system.

Jones has demonstrated the skills necessary to become a top college player, and he would be a huge addition to the Tide’s already impressive 2026 class, regardless of where the 5-Star prospect ends up playing at the next level.
