Vancouver Canucks linked with trade that would ship two experienced stars to the Islanders
It has been clear for nearly a week that the Vancouver Canucks are preparing to trade veteran defenseman Tyler Myers. The only uncertainty now surrounds when the deal will happen — and where he will land.
Myers has been held out of the lineup for the past two games for “trade purposes,” with speculation linking him to the Detroit Red Wings and the Dallas Stars. However, no agreement has yet been finalized.

Now, Stefan Rosner reports that Vancouver and the New York Islanders are engaged in serious trade discussions. The potential package is believed to include Myers and forward Conor Garland.
The Islanders are well positioned to make a move. They currently have more than $6 million in cap space and own two first-round picks in the upcoming draft — their own and one acquired from the Colorado Avalanche.
If both sides can agree on terms, a deal could materialize quickly.
