From worst to best: CFL stadium food rankings revealed
Let’s be real—game day isn’t just about football. It’s about the full experience: the noise, the atmosphere… and the food. Across the Canadian Football League, stadium menus range from basic and forgettable to genuinely elite. Some teams are serving up dishes worth arriving early for, while others still feel stuck in the past.
Here’s our ranking of CFL stadium food—from worst to best.
9. Toronto Argonauts – BMO Field
It’s not terrible—but it’s nothing special either. Standard hot dogs, burgers, and fries dominate, and while there are a few upgraded options, it lacks identity. In a city like Toronto, you expect more creativity and cultural flavour. Right now, it just feels… safe.
8. Montreal Alouettes – Percival Molson Memorial Stadium

You’d think Montreal would bring serious food culture into the stadium, but it hasn’t quite translated. There are glimpses—like smoked meat sandwiches—but overall, the variety and consistency don’t match the city’s reputation.
7. Ottawa Redblacks – TD Place Stadium
Ottawa sits comfortably in the middle. There’s a decent mix of classic and modern options, and the quality is solid without being spectacular. You’ll eat well—but you probably won’t be talking about it the next day.
6. Hamilton Tiger-Cats – Tim Hortons Field
A step up from the basics. Hamilton leans into hearty, satisfying food—think loaded nachos and stacked burgers. It fits the city’s identity, even if it doesn’t quite push boundaries.
5. Calgary Stampeders – McMahon Stadium
There’s a strong BBQ presence here, and that instantly raises the bar. Calgary delivers bold flavours and generous portions, even if the stadium itself is a bit dated. It’s comfort food done right.
4. Winnipeg Blue Bombers – IG Field
Winnipeg punches above its weight. The variety is impressive, with local vendors bringing unique options into the mix. It feels like a proper food experience, not just stadium concessions.
3. Edmonton Elks – Commonwealth Stadium
Here’s where things get interesting—and maybe controversial. Edmonton offers some genuinely creative dishes and bold flavours, but consistency can be hit or miss. On its day, though, it rivals the very best.
2. Saskatchewan Roughriders – Mosaic Stadium
Rider Nation doesn’t mess around. The food matches the passion—big portions, strong local identity, and plenty of options. It’s the kind of place where the food feels like part of the culture, not just an add-on.
1. BC Lions – BC Place
Top of the list—and deservedly so. BC Place delivers the most complete food experience in the league. From diverse international options to high-quality ingredients, it feels modern, exciting, and genuinely worth exploring. This is what stadium food should look like in 2026.
Final word
CFL stadium food is evolving, and some teams are clearly ahead of the curve. While a few venues still rely on tradition (and not always in a good way), others are turning game day into a full-on culinary experience.
Now the real question: did your team rank where you expected? 😏
