Alabama’s DBs Spoke Volumes! 🔥 Ryan Williams Reveals How Their Play Convinced Him to Choose the Tide

Alabama football had to try twice to get Ryan Williams to join. The five-star junior wide receiver from Saraland High School committed to Alabama twice, once when Nick Saban was coach and again when Kalen DeBoer took over.

Williams gave a reason for this in a short documentary that UA posted on Thursday that focused on the Tide’s defensive backs. He explained that the battle on the other side of the ball helped him decide to keep his promise.
Williams said in the video, “That’s definitely something that made me decide to come to Alabama.” “Because I craved to work out with the best.” And I can say for sure that’s what I do every single day. It makes Saturdays so much easier just to compete against those guys.

Williams was a big deal in his first year at Tuscaloosa. At the end of his first year, he had 48 catches for 865 yards and eight scores.

He wasn’t the only Alabama receiver who talked about the UA defence.

“Their main goal is to turn the ball over,” Germie Bernard said in the film. “And I believe they do that really well.” It’s hard for me to do my job because they’re very smart and have a high IQ game. It makes me think a little more, and I know I need to bring it every day to try to get those guys to open up.

On paper, Alabama’s defensive backs look like one of the team’s strong points. When it comes to defence, Keon Sabb, Bray Hubbard, Domani Jackson, and Zabien Brown are all back.

Jackson was in the movie and talked about the group’s culture as it moved into the year 2025.

“About brotherhood, right?” Jackson told him. “No matter what, we’ve got each other’s back.”

Auburn will start training camp in the first week of August. The first game of the 2025 season will be on the road, against Florida State.
