Roman Voss, a four-star ATH who is projected to play as a tight end at the next level, announced his commitment to his native state of Minnesota on Monday. He selected the Gophers over Alabama. The Crimson Tide made a commendable effort to secure the accomplished athlete from Jackson, Minnesota; however, the allure of remaining at home proved too compelling to ignore.

It is said that Voss is the best player in the state of Minnesota. He is the star prospect for the Gophers. In addition to Miami (FL), Wisconsin, USC, Oklahoma, and Auburn, he had offers from many other schools.

In May, Voss got down to Alabama and Minnesota on his list. He said that if he had to leave his home state, it would be for Tuscaloosa. Voss came to Alabama earlier this month for an official visit, and the state seemed to make a big impression.

But in the end, it’s not their fault if they stay home. Alabama does have other choices at tight end, though, and will now focus on their top target at the position, who will commit on Thursday:
