Auston Matthews brutally criticized for showing poor form in first two matches as Team USA captain
The United States has started the Olympic Winter Games men’s hockey tournament with a perfect 2-0 record, but criticism of the team has already emerged.
Much of it is aimed at Toronto Maple Leafs forward Auston Matthews, who is serving as Team USA’s captain.
Fans and analysts have expressed disappointment in Matthews’ play, with some calling for him to lose the captaincy.
Names like Ottawa Senators captain Brady Tkachuk, Vegas Golden Knights forward Jack Eichel, and even Detroit Red Wings captain Dylan Larkin have been suggested as potential replacements.
