Breaking: Canadian running back Chase Brown breaks Cincinnati Bengals franchise record

Canadian running back Chase Brown had plenty to celebrate on American Thanksgiving, as he made Bengals history.

In Thursday night’s 32-14 win over the Baltimore Ravens, Brown rushed 15 times for 78 yards and caught seven passes for 35 yards, totaling 113 yards from scrimmage.

That marked his sixth consecutive game surpassing 100 yards from scrimmage—a streak no player in the franchise’s 58-year history had ever achieved. The 25-year-old from London, Ontario, began the streak on October 16 with 108 rushing yards in a victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers and maintained it through losses to the Jets, Bears, Steelers, and Patriots before setting the record on Thanksgiving.

The University of Illinois alum has been a standout in an otherwise tough 4-8 season for Cincinnati. He has totaled 626 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 145 carries, along with 252 receiving yards and a touchdown on 57 catches.

Four players share the Bengals’ previous record for a five-game 100-yard streak: Cedric Benson (2008–09), BenJarvus Green-Ellis (2012), A.J. Green (2013), and Brown himself last season.
His current streak is also the longest active run in the NFL, though the all-time league record—17 consecutive 100-yard games by Marcus Allen (1985–86)—remains a distant target. (Allen is the older brother of Canadian Football Hall of Fame quarterback Damon Allen.)

The Bengals return to action on Sunday, December 7, against the Buffalo Bills. Before that, Brown is expected to travel to Philadelphia to watch his twin brother, Sydney, suit up for the Eagles against the Chicago Bears on Friday, November 28.
