Former NHL player Sean Avery linked to police investigation after reported incident at home

According to multiple reports citing sources familiar with the case, law enforcement initially responded to the residence around 10 a.m. after receiving reports of criminal threats. The caller identified a neighbour who was allegedly involved in an ongoing dispute and had been harassing contractors working at the property.

Police were called back to the scene later in the afternoon, shortly before 5 p.m., after reports of possible gunfire. It is understood that a contractor working at the home was present when shots were allegedly fired outside the property.

Avery later addressed the situation publicly on social media, claiming that the neighbour had escalated the dispute dramatically. He alleged that the individual shot at the tyres of a contractor’s vehicle during ongoing tension related to construction work at the property.

He also claimed the neighbour attempted to stage a situation involving two individuals in an effort to mislead or “frame” him, although these claims have not been independently verified by authorities.

In further comments, Avery described a chaotic scene unfolding around the property, referencing a standoff situation and ongoing police involvement as the dispute intensified.
