NHL Player Safety issues decision regarding Tom Wilson’s contentious hit on Logan Stankoven
NHL’s Department of Player Safety has announced its decision following a highly debated hit on Saturday night.
According to ESPN’s Greg Wyshynski, Washington Capitals forward Tom Wilson will not face any additional discipline for the hard hit he delivered on Carolina Hurricanes forward Logan Stankoven during the game.

Wyshynski noted that he agrees with the ruling, pointing out that the players’ sizes played a major role in the head contact.
While Capitals fans will likely welcome the decision, the Hurricanes are expected to be displeased, as the incident drew strong reactions during the game. Hurricanes head coach Rod Brind’Amour was visibly furious on the bench after it became clear that Wilson would not be penalized.
