Seth Jarvis reacts emotionally to Team Canada selection with a strong message
Tampa Bay Lightning forward Brayden Point will miss the 2026 Winter Olympics for Team Canada. Carolina Hurricanes forward Seth Jarvis has been called up as his replacement.
Earlier reports suggested Connor Bedard of the Chicago Blackhawks might take Point’s spot, but Jarvis has received the nod instead.

Jarvis confirmed to reporters that Hockey Canada contacted him today while he was resting before tonight’s game against the New Jersey Devils.
Clearly emotional, he spoke about what the selection means to him and how much it matters to represent Team Canada.
Team Canada previously replaced injured forward Anthony Cirelli with Sam Bennett, and while Bedard is still expected to feature, final roster decisions aren’t due until Wednesday.
The squad will travel to Italy on Saturday, so any replacements are likely to be finalized before then.
Tampa Bay and Team Canada head coach Jon Cooper said today that no official announcement on Point’s status could be made yet, as the decision is still pending.
