Surprise remarks from Juraj Slafkovsky as Canadiens prepare for Game 1 of Round 2
Juraj Slafkovsky is heading into the next playoff round with confidence—and a relaxed sense of humour.
After absorbing a heavy hit and even dropping the gloves in the previous series against the Tampa Bay Lightning, the Juraj Slafkovsky was asked whether he was dealing with any lingering effects. His response quickly grabbed attention for its light-hearted tone.

Slafkovsky downplayed any concerns, joking that he felt fine and had already moved on from the incident. Smiling, he made it clear he was not worried about the physical side of things and suggested that the only interruption was a routine concussion protocol check, which he followed without missing time.
His remarks reflected a carefree and confident mindset rather than any sense of caution, showing a young player who is comfortable under playoff pressure. He had already been one of Montreal’s standout performers in the opening round for the Montreal Canadiens, including a memorable hat-trick in Game 1, but admitted there is still more he wants to improve in his game.
Looking ahead, Montreal now prepares for a second-round clash with the Buffalo Sabres, where consistency will be key.
If Slafkovsky’s form—and his relaxed attitude—are anything to go by, he looks set to remain a major factor as the Canadiens push deeper into the playoffs.
