The Ottawa Redblacks have added Canadian wideout Ethan Jordan to their roster, according to multiple sources.

Jordan, 23, is coming off a standout season in which he captured the Hec Crighton Trophy as the top player in U Sports football. The achievement places him among rare company, as he becomes only the eighth receiver in history to win the award — joining notable names such as Argonauts star Kevin Mital and longtime Roughriders great Andy Fantuz.

During the 2025 campaign, Jordan hauled in 68 receptions for 1,066 yards and 10 touchdowns with the Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks, helping guide the program to a third consecutive appearance in the Yates Cup. His production also cemented him as one of the most prolific pass-catchers in OUA history, setting the all-time record for career receptions with 239 while finishing second all-time in receiving yards and touchdowns.

The Chatham-Kent, Ontario native was selected by Ottawa in the sixth round of the 2025 CFL Draft and opened the year on the club’s practice roster before returning to Laurier to complete his final season of eligibility.

Standing five-foot-eleven and weighing 175 pounds, Jordan showcased elite athleticism at the CFL Combine in Regina, posting a 4.44-second time in the forty-yard dash — the second-fastest among all participants.

The Redblacks are coming off a difficult 2025 season in which they finished fourth in the East Division with a 4-14 record, failing to reach the postseason for the fifth time in six years. Quarterback Dru Brown posted a 2-7 record in nine starts, finishing with 2,389 passing yards, 14 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. Dustin Crum went 2-4 across six starts, throwing for 1,771 yards with six touchdowns and two interceptions.
