“Big blow for New York Islanders” – 34-year-old American ice hockey player Kyle Palmieri devastating injury fitness report revealed
The New York Islanders seem to be preparing for the worst. ESPN’s Emily Kaplan reports that the team fears Kyle Palmieri may have suffered a torn ACL — an injury that could sideline the veteran forward for a long stretch.

Recovery from an ACL tear usually takes around nine months even without surgery, and if an operation is required, the timeline could extend beyond a year.
It’s a tough blow under any circumstances, but it feels even more difficult considering how Palmieri left the ice. Even after sustaining what now appears to be a major injury, he stayed in the play and still managed to help create a scoring opportunity, essentially playing on one leg.
With the new understanding of what he was dealing with in that moment, Palmieri’s effort looks even more impressive and has surely earned him admiration from fans across the NHL.
