Hampus Lindholm Outlines What Made the Bruins’ Setback Against the Senators So Irritating

The Boston Bruins saw their seven-game winning streak come to an end on Thursday with a 5–3 loss to the Ottawa Senators.

Boston fell behind 3–1 early in the third period but battled back to level the score at 3–3. Ottawa then regained the lead with under six minutes remaining and sealed the victory with an empty-net goal.

After the defeat, Bruins blueliner Hampus Lindholm broke down why the loss stung so much.

“For that last goal, we needed to handle it better — myself included,” Lindholm told NESN’s postgame coverage on Thursday. “You want to make a smarter play there. All night we showed good pushback, but most of the goals we gave up were created by our own mistakes.

“Those are things we can clean up. Overall, we’re playing strong hockey. I try not to get too down after a game like this, but it’s frustrating. It’s one we should have won, or at the very least taken a point from. We just need to learn from it.”
