Browns have waived return specialist Isaiah Wooden, the team confirmed on Tuesday, bringing an end to his short stint with the franchise.

The 26-year-old speedster joined the Browns in January after drawing attention from multiple NFL organizations, having worked out for five teams including Cleveland, the New York Jets, New Orleans Saints, Denver Broncos, and Atlanta Falcons.

Wooden earned recognition following a standout 2025 campaign with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in the CFL, where he played 14 regular-season games and amassed 1,782 return yards along with three return touchdowns despite suffering an arm injury during the season. His explosive performances saw him lead the league in punt return average at 15.0 yards while finishing second in kickoff return average at 26.3 yards.

The San Diego native previously spent time with the Falcons and the Los Angeles Chargers after going undrafted in 2024. He also briefly signed with the BC Lions in the CFL before being released later that year.

At college level, Wooden starred during his final two seasons at Southern Utah University, recording 100 catches for 1,726 yards and 20 touchdowns while earning first-team All-UAC honours in 2023. Known for his pace, the five-foot-nine return specialist reportedly clocked an impressive 4.38-second 40-yard dash during his pro day as he looked to secure an NFL opportunity.
