The Hamilton Tiger-Cats have locked in Kenny Lawler on a contract extension that runs through the 2028 season, with TSN reporting the deal is valued at $1 million over three years.

The 31-year-old wide receiver is coming off a dominant campaign in which he led the CFL with 14 touchdown receptions. He also finished second in the league with 1,443 receiving yards—behind only Keon Hatcher—and tied for third in catches with 86.

Tiger-Cats president of football operations Orlondo Steinauer praised the move, calling Lawler “one of the great playmakers in CFL history,” and highlighted his leadership, influence in the locker room, and strong connection with the Hamilton community.

Across his CFL career, Lawler has appeared in 81 regular-season games, recording 342 receptions for 5,551 yards and 39 touchdowns. He has earned All-CFL honours twice (2021 and 2025) and was named a West Division all-star in 2022.

The 6-foot-1, 180-pound receiver also brings championship pedigree, having played key roles in the Winnipeg Blue Bombers’ Grey Cup victories in 2019 and 2021.
