4 offensive free-agent signings that would actually fit perfectly
4 Offensive Free-Agent Signings That Make Perfect Sense in 2026
The first wave of 2026 CFL free agency has delivered plenty of intrigue, and while some stars stayed put, others are shaking up the league. Here are four offensive additions that could make an immediate impact in their new homes.
JARELL BROXTON | Offensive Lineman | Winnipeg Blue Bombers
Winnipeg isn’t rebuilding—they’re reinforcing. Broxton, one of the CFL’s top tackles, earned All-CFL honours in 2025 and anchored a BC line that allowed just 20 sacks. Pairing him with future Hall of Famer Stanley Bryant gives the Blue Bombers exciting options: keep Bryant on the left and slide Broxton to the right, or transition Bryant as Broxton settles in. Either way, their line just got a serious upgrade.

DEJON BRISSETT | Receiver | Calgary Stampeders
Calgary’s receiving corps lost some names, but Brissett’s signing strengthens what’s already one of the league’s most talented groups. The Canadian slot receiver led Toronto with 907 yards last season and brings game-breaking speed. With Reggie Begelton, Jalen Philpot, Erik Brooks, and Tevin Jones already on the roster, Brissett should give QB Vernon Adams Jr. even more weapons to attack defenses in 2026.
GREG BELL | Running Back | Ottawa Redblacks
Ottawa’s running game struggled in 2025, but Bell changes that. Coming off a 1,038-yard season with five touchdowns and 426 receiving yards, Bell is a dynamic dual-threat who can carry the backfield and take pressure off QB play. He’s the type of player who can turn a struggling ground game into a dominant one immediately.
COULTER WOODMANSEY | Offensive Lineman | Edmonton Elks
The Elks allowed 52 sacks last year, but Woodmansey is here to fix that. PFF’s top-rated centre in 2025, he’s a stabilizing force in the middle of the line and brings championship-level experience from Hamilton. With Woodmansey anchoring the O-line, Edmonton finally has a chance to protect Cody Fajardo and make a push back into the playoffs.
These four signings don’t just fill holes—they reshape entire offenses and give their teams a legitimate chance to challenge for the title in 2026.
